Many thanks - I am nearly there. Have installed the new port (LP2) and it is
recognised when installing the printer.
As before, at this stage an adjustment has to be made but I cannot remember
just how.
When starting up, the system will not totally communicate.
Following stated:-
Configuration in Progress
Testing Communication Interface ... Error!
(-6) Unassigned Error String
Any further help would be appreciated.

Please keep your replies to the original thread so everyone can see what's
gone before.
Did you check the port in Device Manager to confirm that it is working
properly?
Can you confirm that the HP Printer software installation procedure
completed without error messages or warnings.
Why do you believe that an adjustment has to be made? Is there a message of
some sort that indicates this?
What exactly do you mean "the system will not totally communicate"? Is there
a message, or do you expect something specific to happen, and it doesn't?
