Help, Printer port error...

Hi, I have serious problem with my pc and printer, I don't know why whe
I try to print something it only print some kind of characters but no
what I'm send.

I think that the parallel port is bad but not have a tools or somethin
to test.
exist a software or a way to test the port? if the port wil be reall
bad, exists any way to repair it?

Please I realy apreciate your help...
