connecting a epson usb printer

Hi  
This may be epson printer in general
has anyone succeded in using win98SE with their  epson 4000 pro
printer?  I am using the usb connection and there is no communication
to the printer with the software.

Have you confirmed that USB is working before installing the printer?  For
instance, do you have other USB devices that are working properly?

Also, did you install the printer software before connecting the printer?
Be sure that you follow the directions from Epson exactly.

Yes to all of the above, I have a tablet that works and the good
people at epson have taken me through the install several time, too
many.  The printer work witht the wife's xp.
