I'm using Win98SE. . .and ZoneAlarm is warning me that SPOOL32.EXE is
attempting to access the Internet. (The people at the ZoneAlarm forum refered
me here.)

Is this a legtimate file?  It's located in \windows\system.

What makes me question the file is that I get warnings about this file after
I've been on the computer for several hours AND after I've printed several
jobs.  If this was a print spooling file, wouldn't it launch at startup -- or
at least prior to printing?  And for what reason would it need to access the
Internet?

Can I safetly delete the file?

Thanks.

Yes, it is a legitimate Win98 file.  In case yours is corrupt or infected,
you can extract a new spool32.exe from the Win98 installation CD to replace
the one on your system.

Be sure to check for virus making sure that you have the latest virus
signature list for your virus scanning utility.
