I have a Lexmark X75 printer that is working as far as I can tell. It will
turn on and print alignment pages and perform head cleaning. However when I
try to use the print button in explorer there is no response and I get a box
that comes up that tells me an error has occured, but it doesn't tell me
where the error is.
Now what I have done to try and fix this is to uninstall the software and
reinstall it as well as unplugging the USB cable and reattaching it. Windows
recognizes the new device and goes through the process of installing the
printer.
I have tried to use the troubleshooters but all I get is a blank page when I
try to use the Help section. All other help areas are working.
Also when I check the system information it shows that there is no printer
installed, but it is in the device manager.

Windows Millennium Edition

Do you have the problem using Notepad or Wordpad? Do you mean Explorer or
Internet Explorer doesn't work when you try to print? If it's Internet
Explorer and not other programs with the problem, then open IE and go to
Tools, Internet Options, Advanced. Scroll to Browsing and deselect "Enable
third-party browser extensions".
If the problem is just with IE and/or Outlook Express, take a look at this
