Dear All,
can anyone say how different usb printing is to
printing via parallel port?

As we have a customer that has spool32 errors with
kernel32 currently printing via lpt1...if we switched them
over to usb, is it possible that the print process might
be different enough to bypass the kernel32 dll and avoid
causing errors..thus saving us from insanity??

many thanks in advance?

Printing to a USB port is not likely to fix your problems - better to
troubleshoot the Spool32 errors.

If a printer and drivers don't work properly using a parallel port, and
spool errors are involved, it's likely that either the printer drivers, or
video card drivers are involved, or a windows dll mismatch has occurred.
Kernel32 is, basically, windows.  Changin to a USB interface just adds more
complexity to the problem.

This is where I'd suggest you start.
