Compaq Presario 5BW120, Windows 98 Second Edition - Epson
Stylus Colour 760 printer.

Printer fails to print, but is recognised by computer as
it 'operates' ie registers when computer started.  The
printer lead and printer work OK when connected to a
laptop running XP.  When a print job is sent an error
message appears ie communcation error writing to LPT 1.

The printer has worked fine in the past and on the odd
occasion when I have wiped all printer drivers,
reinstalled etc it has worked briefly and then failed
again.  Help needed!
