Hi - It appears my Registry is "too big" to run scanreg /fix  (8.9MB).
Is there any way to trim it?  I already did a scanreg /opt
EasyCleaner identifed 330 "unneeded" entries, but I'm a little scared to
try it, as if it gets one wrong it may be weeks before I know.

help?

thanks

Regedit has an Export Registry File option on the first
tap. Remember the name you give it and where you save it.
You can use the Import Registry File option on that same
tab if your regcleaner messed things up for you. I am
assuming it will export your 8.9MB registry.  I have never
exported anything bigger then 4.5MB on my computer.

The registry management utility in Windows 98 is ScanReg. See:
