Some of my files are corrupted and I need to reinstall
WIN98.  However, I can't get past the DOS prompt level. I
can't even start Windows in safe mode.  Does anybody have
any suggestions how to procede?  All the install and
system file checker programs require Windows to run.
Thanks
Michael

You can boot the Win98SE boot disk made during setup. (If you do not have it
you can download a disk from www.bootdisk.com with CDROM support.

Then you boot the boot disk which will get you to an A:> prompt.
Next change to the drive letter of the CDROM drive from the A:> prompt by
typing in the drive letter
A:> D:   <enter> If the drive letter is D (the downloaded disk will have
this as drive R)
Next change to the win98 folder on the CDROM by typing in
cd win98
Next type setup and the install should start.

Make sure you have the product key before starting
