I am running on Windows98 Second Edition. I just installed a Minolta
Laser Printer.
In installing the new printer, I obviously screwed up somewhere and
indicated somehow that this was a network printer. As a result when I
hit print I immediately get a printer fault logo appearing in the tray.
I finally noticed that when I go to START>Setting>Printers that 1: this
particular printer's logo is a lighter shade than the others and 2:
when I right click on the printer the drop down contains a Use Printer
off-line entry that is checked. When I uncheck it my printer works.
Also when I uncheck this entry the entire entry goes away.
I tried locating a radio button or check box in properties to unmake it
a network printer but had no luck finding such assignment. Do I have
to uninstall/reinstall the printer? Or is there a setting somewhere I
can change.
I'd appreciate some help in directing me to where I can undo the
network printer association.
TIA

I don't know if there is a setting or not but it only takes a couple of
minutes to reinstall a printer.
