I have just installed windows 98 on a computer that did
not have an existing operating system other than DOS. It
is now runing in safe mode due to the fact that it is
missing a file by the name of vnetbios.vdx
Can you help me?

You may also need to reinstall Dial-up Networking.  To do this go to Control
Panel, Add/remove programs, Windows setup, Communications and check the box.
If it's already checked, then uncheck it, exit and restart and then go back
and check it.
