If I get a used copy of win 98 and install it on my hard
drive, will the product key that came on the outside of my
case work? (preinstalled boot package from manufacturer)

Thanks,  Russ

It depends on whether the version that you purchase is the exact same
version that you have installed.  You probably have an OEM version so your
product ID would not work for a retail version of Windows.

Why not use the product key that you will get when you purchase the used
copy?
