I have a 98-SE updates disk I beleave used to
upgrade 98 to 98-SE. But from checking it out it
seems to have everything that my full version has.
Can this be used to load 98-SE to a blank HD if
I can get my 98(disk is cracked) to be reconized
 as a quallifying OS.
                            Thanks
                              Greg

Hi Greg,

No, the Win98SE Updates cd can only be installed from
within the Windows 98 shell. Call Microsoft at 1-800-642-7676
and ask for a replacement to the broken CD.

Tried the replacement route with Win-98,
and two Win98-SE disk I have the books and
all except the box. This didn't work guess
MS uses cheep disk for a reason, all my new
Win98-SE have been used once to make an ISO
copy and they haven't cracked yet. Funny all
that did crack where at the center or spin
 point, haven't changed CD-ROM either.
Would it be possable to add formatt,
oemsetup.bin, and oemsetup and make it work
I think I'll play with it and the spare hd
 and make a disk.
