My Win98 sometimes hang, no action at all. I have checked the harddisk
using scandisk, seems fine.

What else I can check fot the Win98 hang issue?

Thanks.

Any of the  following  could  be  the  culprit

1. overheating - check CPU fan, clean out  dust  if  necessary
2. faulty  RAM  -  try reseating  it  then test with mentest86, do the
extended tests
3. flaky power supply  -  if  you  can, test the  outputs with a  multi
meter
4. make  sure  all cables  are  fitting  snugly  inside the  case
5. run Ad-Aware & Spybot  S&D, also  make sure  your AV software is current
6. clean out  all temp files
7. run defrag
