in start up my comp says its missing a .dll file and i
have to reload windows 98SE. I downloaded a win98 boot
disk from another computer and when i try to use it, my
comp doesnt seem to be reading the boot disk at all. I
hooked up another floppy drive and the same prob. Is
there someway of making this work? I have my orig. CD,
key and all but cant get to that point. Helppppppppp

Separate the various problems:
1. If one DLL is missing, you seldom need to
reinstal everything to get it. Consult
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=/servicedesks/fileversion/dllinfo.asp
2. Test your boot floppy disk. If it does not work:
2a. Is the disk OK? Does the disk work in
another PC?
2b. Is the floppy drive OK? Is it correctly configured
in the BIOS? Does it work in another PC?

What is the name of the .dll file it says is missing? You should be able to extract
the file without re-loading Windows.
Your boot floppy may not work because your computer BIOS is not set to boot from the
floppy drive first.
