Hi Todd,

Boot the system with a Win98 Starup disk. At the command prompt type
D:\Setup  (D) being the drive letter of the CD ROM drive.

If you are in need of a boot disk go to: www.bootdisk.com

For step by step instruction look here:

You need to make a change to your startup files, and unless you can
re-create that CD that means you will be booting from floppy instead.  See:

The most common cause for this error is that you have faulty RAM or cache on
the system.  I'd suggest having it tested.

I am guessing that the reason this system is clean is that you were having
problems and decided to start from scratch.  This is a great troubleshooting
step and when Windows will not install on such a system, the problem is
almost always due to a hardware failure.  If the problem were software
related, Windows would install just fine on the clean system.
