new hard drive

In order for a new hard drive to work properly you need to do the following:

1. Install it physically - making sure that the jumpers is set properly.
2. Partition the drive using Fdisk Then the partition need to be set active
if it is to be the boot drive.
You would do this from a floppy. If you already have a drive installed with
the operating system and the new drive is installed as a secondary drive you
can boot the existing drive and do the partitioning and the format.
3. Format the drive
You would also do this from a floppy
4. Install the operating system
