I have had my computer since 2000. i don't have the original CD. I want to
upgrade to second edition so I can upgrade to Xp. I can't afford to buy any
software and been trying to find free software but been unsuccessful If i had
the program I could do it myself. any help would be appreciated

First, you do not need win98 second edition to upgrade to XP.  First edition
will work equally well.

Second you do not need any operating system installed to install XP. If you
use an upgrade disk you do need a CD for a qualifying product. Either
version of win98 or win95 would work.

None of it is free
