Hi all
I have reformatted my hd on my P4 2.4 machine and want to install Win98. I
tried this once before and got an error message. I found the solution on the
MS knowledge base, but can't remember what the fix was.
So, can anyone tell me how to install Win98 on my P4 2.4 machine, as the
knowledge base mentioned the workaround, but I can't remeber it or the exact
number of the knowledge base entry.
Thanks

One fix is to slow the CPU below 2.2gHz, install Windows, then install the
fix package from Microsoft, and finally to speed the CPU back up to normal
speed.

This is not an official reply from MS. This is an opinion of a MS 98
operating system user:
Use 98SE instead if you got a copy.
There's a copy of a WinME version of ndis.vxd floating around the internet
in zip format. Find it, unzip to floppy. When the 98 installation bites
the dust, overwrite the older version of ndis.vxd with the one on the
floppy.

Hey CaptCanada ,If you Figure this out please let me know,i tried last week,
all was good ,the only problem was i had to get all drivers for windows 98se
and then i had other problems. I also have a p4 2.4ghz,with 2 western
digital hdd.One is 60gigs and the other 160 gigs.I had to format the 60 to
fat32 and then when i install the other ,windows would not pick it up.So now
until i have proper information ,i will comtinue with my research and wait a
while
Thanks if you do have information please let me know.
