As the Don mentioned, yes. When you re-install the OS everything that was
normally installed when the OS was installed the first time will also be
re-installed meaning that you'll be required to do your updates all over
again. Everything, even the updates to the various things like IE, OE, and
MP will need to be re-installed and re-downloaded. Some people have made the
effort to archive the various downloads that they'll need should they face
this situation again. If you have a means of backup (CDs are usually
recommended for this) then it's an idea for you. Alternatively you can
partition your HDD and save the updates to another partition or even to
another drive if you want to install a slave drive.
