Hope this is the right ng, I'm not even sure if this is a win 98 problem!

I'm using win98se with 640mb ram.
Have just defragged all drives and on reboot get this error:

Memory Manager not detected
SB Live requires EMM386 or similar
SB Live driver not loading

The error was not there before defrag (fairly sure of this).

Any advice please on how to fix the problem.

Many thanks

Nick.

First make sure that the file EMM386.exe is still on your system (use
the search or find tool). If it is, note the full path to it's
location. Now open CONFIG.SYS in Notepad. There needs to be line which
loads EMM386.EXE like this: DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386  (adjust the path
as necessary if it's located somewhere else, and make sure the line
comes before any reference to Soundblaster. If you've had to adjust or
add anything to CONFIG.SYS, don't forget to save (in Notepad) the file.
Then re-boot to apply the edits.
