You need also to instal drivers for the video adapter,
to allow the full range of screen configurations the
hardware allows.

1.  Identify the video card.   If in doubt run a free
analysis app like that from www.belarc.com
2.  Locate video drivers (from the maker's web site.)
3.  Instal software via
/ start / settings/ control panel / system / device manager
Select "Display Adapters".
If yours is not listed, instal it via
Add New Hardware
and then instal software as above.

Hi Don, I was able to download belarc and had a hard time identifying the
video adapter you spoke of, but did download lavalys where it clearly stated
it. Anyway I found the Intell cd and was able to load the software, but got
message error starting program the MSVP60.DLL file is linked to missing
export MSVCRT>DLL:__lc_collate_cp. After fixing the video drives I was able
to load the original program I  couldn't  which was peoplepc upon doing so I
also got same error but different file. Peoplepc downloaded the missing files
and everything was alright for that file. My question is now when I turn on
the pc it  says the error message concerning the above file spoke of is there
a way to fix this problem and is there anyway to find out if theres any more
files missing. Thank you.

It seems you mean the PC now cold boots OK but
still with an error message.   This would be normal
if the startup routine still calls a file you have not got
and do not actually need.  If you locate the file call
(possibly in WIN.INI or SYSTEM.INI) you can REMove it.

If the PC does not boot OK, repost with exact symptoms.

HI Don, I' m new to this so please bare with me. You were correct that the
error message still comes up on reboot. If I did this right under Run I
entered  SYSTEM.INI and then WIN.INI and could not find the file spoke of.

Don , Thank you for all your help. I read some other related topics and
aparently norton antivirus isn't a good idea and removed from system and
everything is O.K. Again thanks for all your help.
