Trying to fix my daughters PC from a situation where it was comming up saying

Enter Path to Command System Interpreter Eg C:\Windows\Command.Com

Got round the problem by re installing WIN98 . . . Was doing windows update
thing, and went back to her room . . . She had leant onthe Win98 disk and
cracked it!!

So trying to sort out audio drivers, Downloaded latest from Compaq and
applied them, PC need to reboot . . . . Rebooted . . . Back to the same
problem

Enter Path to Command System Interpreter

It looks as though the Config.sys and Autoexec files are missing from the
root, but its been so long since I played with win98 that I can't remember
what should be there . . Yes I know I should have created some rescue disks .
. . Now . . .  Just off to see if I can find a PC with Win98 on so that I can
try that.

Any help much appreciated.

Regards

Aleman

Go to http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm and create a Windows 98 boot
floppy.  Use it to start the affected computer, type "sys  c:" and press "Enter".
Then remove the floppy and restart.
