I've got the same problem as Greg, exactly the same. And sorry, but I
was unable to find a suitable solution from the hints and links that
were suggested in the reply. Moreover, as that topic seems to be
closed, I hope someone will provide me a better answer... need it!

I didn't see the other thread, but can you post the contents of this
registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Enum\SCSI

Use the Registry -> Export function to generate a .reg file.

You could also check Device Manager to see how your DVD drive is being
detected.
