What is Winservn?  I somehow got connected with a P
(Purity Scan) Sear1 application. I tried to delete it,
however it must have deleted a windows application that
also used it. So, I reloaded Windows 98 SE and updated
everything but still when in control panel or shutting
down or procedures like that I get that the Winservn. is
not responding. HOWEVER that darn purity scan (Sear1) is
still up and running.  I tried to delete Purity but will
not allow me to since Windows is running it. How do I get
my computer back to before 2 two days ago before I started
trying to pretend I knew what I was doing, or what else
can I do? Thank you! Using a Compac computer with Windows
98 SE

You are infested with spyware. See, for instance,
http://www.cexx.org/winservs.htm

You should download and use some spyware removal utility, such as Ad-Aware.
