Can not open JPEG & BITMAP files

I cannot find the solution to the following message. I
have reloaded windows 98SE an it was not solved.
"Windows cannot find .exe. This file is needed to open
JPEG image. I get the same message for BITMAP files.

If you have a graphics viewer, reinstall it. If not: Irfanview: A
very good freeware graphics viewer: http://www.irfanview.com/

In many cases that is the remnant of a virus infection, it has corrupted the
"open with" file list (how I dunno :( ) your av has repaired it, almost, but
you can fix,,
point to a .jpg file
shift-right click the file
select "open with" from the menu
choose your installed viewer from the list
check the "always use this program to open this file type" box
OK

repeat for .bmp
then go to your antivirus web site and search for the symptom you described
for any final cleaning instructions
