I want to install MS Office 2000 on a Windows 98SE
machine and am not sure if that would work? What about
Office XP?
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Hi Steven
While I haven't installed Office XP, it looks like it can run on W98:

Oh right.... I got told it didn't (pretty sure it was one of the MVP's in
the XP NG but, don't quote me on that)

Sorry, but Steven's wrong. Both Office 2000 and Office XP work on Windows
98.

Office xp works well on win98SE, requires some system file updates. that are
on the install CD. so takes a fairly long time to install. only possible bad
news is it changes formats of all the clip art, just a little, so if you
download from office.microsoft.com dont select .cil format
crash

Jay... I was having EULA issues at the Microsoft Design Gallery and after
speaking to Microsoft's Techies, who decided to send me Office XP
Professional to install and test for them. The EULA issue resolved itself
and let me tell you Office XP runs great and adds a lot of flexibility that
I did not have with my older version of Office.
Just do IT!
