Win98SE - what to upgrade to

I want to upgrade my operating system but I am confused as
to which product to upgrade to? XP or Windows 2000? Is
there a Windows 2004 or 2003?

Can any one help?

How old is the PC--what CPU speed and how much ram? Home or business
use? XP is the latest system--the next one won't be out for a couple of
years.

No there is not a 2003 or 2004 window.
