could anyone tell me if it is possible to put passwords on
folders, and how to enable them, it woul be a great help.

Not in Windows 98 (at least, not without third party software). You need an
NT-based operating system and the NTFS file system to do this. Upgrade to
Windows XP if your hardware will support it.
