My Mom's pc is using Office 2000 and Window 98. The
Freecell program is working properly for a while.
Recently, she click "new game" and the pc hangs. I have
tried re-install it by it's still the same. Solitarie also
shows the same problem. Otherwise, minesweepers and hearts
are working prefectly fine. I use Trend Micro Housecall
anti-virus scan and the system is virus free. Is there any
solutions to it?

Perhaps try running SFC (System File Checker) type SFC at the Run
dialogue.

My biggest problems with the old games under Windows 98
(98SE, actually) had to do with using a screen saver.
I soon switched to just having the screen go to black
after a reasonable number of minutes. You could try
switching your screen saver off and see what happens.

>Hi Amy. Its probably a coincidence but I also had a
problem with both Solitaire and Freecell. both programs
not working but Minesweeper and Hearts were OK. I ran SFC
as suggested by Andrew which whilst locating and fixing
two corrupt files failed to solve the problem. I finally
tracked it down to McAfee PGP which I had loaded from a
magazine disc. When said program had been disabled
everything was back to normal. Well there is a suprise. So
the million dolllar question is have you or your Mother
recently loaded any new software?
