I cannot open Microsoft Word files or folders. The
computer stalls, and when I press Control Alt Delete, it
just comes up with the box that says the program is not
responding. I've rebooted a couple of times with no
success.

A common fix that might work but is easy to try is to
search for any copies of the file NORMAL.DOT and rename
them (eg NORMAL.DOT.OLD) then restart WORD and try again.
If that doesn't work, try asking in a WORD newsgroup. Be
sure to mention the version of WORD you are using.
