When starting Solitare, an error message pops up saying "Illegal operation
has occured, contact the program vendor". What is causing this
error........?

If there is a details button, click it and post that message verbatim--the
registers are not required.

" This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If
the problem persists contact the program vendor"

(then there are register numbers following the above message)

There should be a details button and that reveals the error message that
might be important in finding an answer.

Thanks Ron;
 I believe I have the problem tracked down to AOL IM.
Doesn't seem to work with AOL .
