I am getting an error in module EXPLORER.EXE when I try to
run Windows Explorer.  I am trying to find a copy of
explorer.exe for Windows98 to reload on my system.  Can
anyone help me find the file?

Extract from the Windows CD or from the .cab file location on the hard drive:

>I had such a serious problem with the same file. I was
not even able to get my start button to apppear. The error
said the explore.exe file was missing and I needed to
reinstall windows 98. I have a DEll computer and as good
as their tech support claims to be, they are a bunch of
jerks. Well the last 2 years have sucked, but the first 3
were good. This tool should have been suggested by at
least 1 of the 57 tech consultants I spoke to to help fix
this problem.  After a month or so of reading almost every
help me file in DOS, I stumbled across a program called
Extraction Tool. I am not a computer guru so it took me
some time to figure out how to use this tool. You can get
to it by typing at the A:/ EXTRACT, then type the commands
they ask for you will need your windows 98 cd. It's really
tough at first, but be exact in typing and it will work.
You need to put explorer.exe back in C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM
Good luck and you have my e-mail if you need any more help.
                                       happy fixing,
                                          Tammy
