Are there any reasons for checking bios updates?

Not unless you are having a problem. Be advised that applying the wrong
BIOS update (for example, one not made specifically for your brand and/or
model of PC) or having a fluctuation while doing the update can cause your
PC to start gathering dust because it will no longer start.
