when i try to play any audio file in windows media player, it tells me that i
need to run FMV.exe in order to open it, FMV is a video editing program that
I recently uninstalled because of this problem

The easy way to fix this is to hold down the Shift key on your keyboard,
then right-click a media file and use "Open With ..." on the pop-up menu to
re-set the file to be opened in Media Player.
