Language settings problem

Hello,
I have been running into situations with people who have had the language
changed in only one portion of their 98 OS. They are not sure what action
they did to bring this about. For example, all MS "Warning" popups switched
from English to Swedish. Although there are many locations where one can
select different languages, such as Internet Tools in IE, Ctrl Pnl Regional
Settings or Language Settings in Office2000, I am not clear where MS
controls language settings for various Windows functions. Any and all
feedback is appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

Windows 98 does not support  multi language dialogues. The language settings
you refer to are actually keyboard/alphabet or spell checker/dictionary
settings. It seems that some program files (such as DLLs) were replaced,
probably by a new application that has been installed recently.

This occurs when a different language system's files are mixed with English
system files.  This generally occurs by loading software written in a
different language.  Once this problem appears, the only way I know of
fixing it is too scrub the partition and reinstall W98 clean.
