Hi Guys,
If I try and copy a large folder from one drive to another, with a drag and
drop or sendto option, the copying starts but right at the end, when the
progress bar looks 100%, the numbers indicating the number of minutes to
completion, go into the many thousands.
What might cause this?
Dragging and dropping or using the sendto function one file at a time, works
okay and is the only option.
Thanks!

How big are the files you are trying to transfer and how many are you trying
to transfer at one time?

How big = 30gig
How many = 12
Thanks.

How long have you waited at the end of the copy, and does the time estimate
go down? Windows leaves a lot of internal updating until the end of the
copy (you can notice the delay even on much smaller copy volumes) and it's
possible that the time estimate is simply way off when the files are this
large, and it won't take anything like what it's estimating.
Try running a CPU performance monitor to confirm that the system is still
working hard, rather than hanging.

W98 is limited to 4 gb files--no way can it handle a 30 gb file.

No idea but it happens to me too and I suspect some sort of arithmetical
error due to the size/quantities. Regardless of the messed up "time to
completion", the copy completes OK. YMMV
