installing windows98

I am trying to istall windows98 in a computer that had windows95 on it. I
installed win98 frist from a hard disk and need to install it now from the
cd. but the cd-rom is not reading it. I think I need a command, but not sure.
and not sure what it whould be. Any help will do. thank you

No, install will not start by itself from the CD and the CD is not bootable
(Some OEM ones are )
If you booted from a floppy with CD Rom support then at the A:> prompt type
in the following
"CDROM drive letter":\win98\setup      Note"CDROM drive letter" will be
something like E or R
If you already have windows running then use explorer and go to the win98
folder on the CD and double click on setup.exe
