Outlook Express Problem

On my Win98 system with Outlook Express 6, I restored a 2-month old
drive image to a new hard drive. I copied today's OE Inbox and other
OE folders to the hard drive. I'm trying to bring my OE up to day.
When I copy and paste the Inbox and other new email folders to
Windows/Application/Identities/Microsoft/Outlook Express, they don't
show up in the OE program. I tried to import the messages with OE's
File/Import/File Store, but when I browse to the folder with the .dbx
messages, it always says there are "no messages in that folder".  I know
there's a way to do this. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Scott

1. You probably didn't copy the files to the right Identity. You can find
out where your current message store is by going to the Tools menu in OE,
Options>Maintenance tab, Store Folder button. There, you can highlight that
long string, then press Ctrl-C, then go to the Start>Run box, use Ctrl-V to
Paste in the path and press OK. That will open the folder. You can then drop
those DBX files into that folder (Copy, don't Move -- don't want to lose the
files in case something goes wrong.) Be sure to do this with OE closed.

2. The reason the Import didn't work is probably that you didn't have ALL of
the DBX files in the folder you tried to import from. FOLDERS.DBX also has
to be present.

For future reference, you might want to check out OEBackup. See
