Hi all,

I am looking for a DivX-Player that runs on Windows98 (NOT SE/ME).

Any idea? I found no player that worked properly.

THX, Oskar.

Not sure it works with Win98 Gold (First Edition, i.e. not SE), but if that
won't help either -- I think you're out of luck...

Freeware DivX Free 5.2.1 from
http://www.free-codecs.com/DivX_Free_download.htm
(7.5 MB to download) installs the DivX codec.

Media Player Classic from
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Media_Player_Classic.htm
(2.2 MB to download) ought to play the DivX movies after that.

Chances are you simply don't have the DivX codec properly installed. If it
was, even media player plays DivX files fine.

I've had excellent results with the ffdshow codec on Win2000, IMHO it's
considerably better than the official DivX or XviD codecs. . Not sure if it's
9x compatible, mind you. Available from free-codecs site.

Media Player Classic comes in a 9x flavor, BTW. Make sure you get the right
one.
