I'm so sorry! Just tested it on a fresh Windows 98SE install and you are absolutely right. But I'm also sure I used a from MS downloaded Exel viewer each time on new Windows 98SE installations when not installing MS Office. MicroSoft must have changed something. I'll have a look, maybe a still have an older version of the Exel viewer somewhere. NOTE: If you already have a full version of Microsoft Excel installed on your computer, DO NOT install Microsoft Excel Viewer in the same directory. Doing so will cause file conflicts. The old Excel 97 viewer is no longer available from the Microsoft website, but you can still download it from http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fid,5257,00.asp among other places. Obviously, the old viewer does not support features introduced in later versions of Excel. |
