I am trying to install Kodak's EasyShare s/w which comes
with one of their digital cameras and it when it tries to
load it says "Missing MPRAPI.DLL" and terminates.  I have
searched for MPRAPI.DLL and found that it is a Windows NT
file...however, I am running Windows 98 (so I cannot
install it).  Anyone had a similar problem or know
anything about this?

There are a few cross-platform files on a 98 box to start
with but Mprapi.dll isn't to be found on mine.  I would
suspect that it is to be found in the Kodak software package
somewhere.  Reinstall the software?

I believe that this is an incompatibility with iphlpapi.dll - upgraded
in my case by a linksys wpc54g wireless network card

My Questions:
Has anyone overcome this problem?
Where can I find a change log for iphlpapi.dll?
Anyone know the consequences in downgrading iphlpapi.dll?
What are the consequences of installing mprapi.dll from a later
version of windows, or some other source?

Thanks in advance for all advice.

Background: (questions at the bottom)
I've recently installed (a) linksys wcp54g, and attempted to install
kodak easy share(for use with a kodak digital camera).

Attempting to run the kodak easy share software (version 3.2) gives a
'missing mprapi.dll' message.

I am running win98se, ie6.

According to symantec online help, the linksys wpc54g installs a new
version of iphlpapi.dll, which in some circumstances calls mprapi.dll.
This apparently also interferes with Symantec's enterprise vpn client.

Win98se uses version 5.00.1717.2 (iphlpapi.dll)

After installing the above two pieces of software, I now have
5.00.2173.2 (iphlpapi.dll)

I have confirmed that there is a reference to mprapi.dll in the later
version, but there is not in the earlier version.

symantec recommends re-installing the older iphlpapi to fix the
problem, but warns the 'WPC54G card itself may be affected in
unpredictable ways'
(www.symantec.com - Document ID:2003103013462254)

As a workaround for other kodak users, the kodak camera's can use an
internal memory card, which can then be removed and be downloaded via
a memory card reader to a pc.  Not the cheapest of solutions, but this
has worked for me, and I can now use my camera again
