I am trying to upgrade from Win 98SE to XP. At about the
67 minute mark (after copying files), I continually get
error messages - either OE 0028 or OD 0028 - and a blue
screen. It won't let me upgrade. The mother board is
new - ASUS A7VX8-X - with an AMD 2600+ chip. I recently
changed the memory thinking that was the problem - it now
has 1 gig. The only other cards I have are a Soundblaster
Live Platinum card and an Xtasy 9600 video card (which is
also new). Any suggestions? I have even been on the
phone for a total of 4hrs with Windows staff and received
no help.

you need to start the windows xp from the cd rom which
you have to make sure when you computer starts it boots
from the cd room then it will work. It will reformat then
reload windows os. Just make sure that you have all of
your drivers incase xp does not load the right ones

You mean boot the computer from the upgrade CD? Should I
back up anything first?
