Can I get a replacement cpy of W 98 SE anywhere?

My presario burned up in a power surge so I lost my W98SE
that came with it. I have a back up computer with W 95 on
it and need to upgrade to W 98 to get USB Interface
functionality. I only have a 2 gig Hard Drive so I can't
fit W XP.

Best bet is E-bay or do a google search for a RETAIL version of w98.

You can always get it on ebay for maybe $50 or so

Be carefull, buying another copy of 98 now isn't a good
idea as the support for that product will expire on jan,
16 2004  I don't think they will even allow critical
updates after that date. Someone please correct me if I'm
wrong

You're wrong.  All existing updates will remain available.

I downloaded them just to be on the safe side.

Well, if that is the case, then I guess we really don't have to download them
to a CD afterall (which is good, cause I haven't).

That is the case.  The Product Lifecycle page clearly says that all
currently available updates and self-assisted support options (ie,
newsgroups) will remain available until at least June 30 of 2006.  I would
bet (but cannot state either with certainty or officially) they'll remain
available long afterwards - Windows 95 newsgroups and downloads are still
present, and Windows 3.1 newsgroups and downloads can still be found.

What I have heard, second hand, so not sure if its real or not is that
Microsoft will stop all support of Windows 98 including critical updates.
The update page will still work, its just that new updates will not be added
to it.

Now in the real world, Microsoft has far too many customers on Win98 to just
let them go, my feeling is there will be limited support and especially if
its a security update. No facts to this statement, just a feeling.
