Copying profiles between users

A separate but related issue to my previous post: My wife does not
like to go to the trouble of signing off and signing back on with her
user name. A large part of the reason for this is that I have put a
lot of effort into customizing my desktop and start menu to make them
easier to use, where hers is still in the out-of-the-box state. Her
start menu does not even list a lot of the programs that are
installed.

What is the easiest way to copy my profile to hers, so that they will
have the same functionality (but keep data such as the My Documents
folders separate)?

Thanks,
Cliff Lewis

Control Panel> Passwords> User Profiles tab:
what do you have selected and checkmarked there?

Users can customize their preferences.

"Include desktop icons..." and "Include Start menu..." are both
checked.

I believe you need to install the programs in both profiles, or else install them in the default profile, which is entered by clicking Cancel at the log-in, instead of logging onto one of the profiles.

You will find the files for a profile under the folder with the profile name, in Windows\Profiles subfolders.

You may want to just start over, deleting her profile and recreating it.....dunno for sure as I do not use profiles.
