I am not clear exactly what you mean but....
What sort of file? (what extension?)
It may not have been a file suitable for Wordpad.
What window are you trying to view?
If you mean you have associated a file with Wordpad that you shouldn't
have, then remove the association in
Explorer-View-Folder Options-File Types
