I keep being asked to install update 823559 it shows that
it has installed but the next day I am asked to do it
again,and again,and again,ect...... This has been going on
for months

There is a troubleshooter here with several issues listed that seem to be
similar to yours:

You could also try posting a message at microsoft.public.windowsupdate

Hi,
Uninstall it using add/remove programs, reboot, then return to Windows
update and reinstall it.
