After installing all critical updates on a clean Win 98 install the following
error message comes up when setting the clock or calendar.
"Calendar can't find one or more of the files it needs to run.
run the Calendar setup program again to install the missing files.
If the Calendar still does not open, run the Internet Explorer setup program
to install the missing files."
1. Can't find anything about or resembling 'Calendar setup program'
2. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling IE6, no improvement.
Many thanks in anticipation

the calendar is normally installed with "Office" (Outlook actually)

so I would interpret this needs to be posted in an Office newsgroup --
sorry I am not currently subscribed to any Office newsgroups but perhaps
someone else can provide the poster with a good Office newsgroup

It's not associated with Outlook because Office is not installed, but rather
the time and date setting for Windows itself. Error comes up if one enters
time and date setting via the clock in System Tray in particular.
It could be related to Works because Works is installed from the recovery
disks.

Thank you for reponding to my post.
It was Works Calendar causing my grief. simply unistalles all of works
including calendar as not needed and all is well.

I am glad you solved your problem and that all it was was a simple
unistall of Works.
