NOT recommended. The info is about a mm behind the shiny bottom
surface of the disc, embedded in what is commonly perceived as
the "cover side" and unless the disc is seriously scratched, the
laser ignores the minor surface aberrations. You should never
use ANY commercial cleaners on either side of a cd/dvd disc.
Breathe on it for a few moments and then using a Webril wipe or
a VERY soft cotton cloth, wipe it in a star pattern OUTWARDS
from the center, never circular.

Huh?

They are the biggest scam there is, except for the "anti-glare"
screens.

Good advice, but I'm wondering if you'd agree with advice I pass on from
time to time that for seriously scratched CDs, you can use a car wax to
smooth them up (the "bottom side" of course.) Wax fills the abrasions. Seen
it recommended several times and I've even used it a couple times. Any
drawbacks? (Of course, with seriously scratched CDs, the first thing to do
when you can manage to get it to read is to make a copy.)

It makes sense in the way that those TV ads for "miracle wax"
that fills in minor car paint scratches etc. is supposed to
work. I would imagine it would work much better with TINY
scratches in a plastic disc. And you can always wash it off if
it doesn't help or makes it worse.
Personally speaking, I have successfully managed to only handle
CD's by their edges for many years now, and only dropped about 4
ever, with no visible damage. I have seen friends' discs which
should NOT play, but do. Who the hell knows anymore.

FWIW, I've managed to read every single byte off an AOL data CD after
severely gouging it along several radii with a screwdriver.

Guys , as I said this dvd was tested in another PC. It was working fine. So
it does not need cleaning.

Gonzojohn must be some king of airman, like Terhune & Badour— & flying
upside down or sideways! I'm surprised Terhune didn't explain it!
