S1L1Y1 - 26 Oct 2006 01:26 GMT I was wondering if it is possible to have that whenever I send a business email using Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook it should open with my letterhead? Sol
Gary S. Terhune - 26 Oct 2006 01:57 GMT First of all, I'm almost certain that the procedure is done diffently in Outlook than in Outlook Express. In Outlook, I'm fairly certain that you use Templates. In OE, I'm fairly certain that it is not directly possible. The workaround is to use a Word template or similar, create the email in Word, etc., then copy/paste into OE.
Second, while you may get a better answer than mine here, you'd do better to ask in the OE and OL newsgroups:

Then when you want to send a business email select the dropdown list arrow for "Create New" and select the stationary you set up.

Terhune - 26 Oct 2006 03:11 GMT I tried that, but as far as I can tell, the letterhead would need to be an image. Guess that would work, so long as the recipient isn't reading in PT.

Wanna send me a sample? I'll even enable HTML if I have to.

Once I can wrap my head around this issue without bits of gray matter spewing out from my eyes and ears -- we'll leave my mouth out of this -- I'll post back with my understanding of how it works. I *still* don't quite get it.

Terhune - 27 Oct 2006 04:40 GMT OK, I see Bruce Hagen and Ron Sommer, over in the OE General group have explained a couple of ways. Ron's has the method I was looking for in my last reply to you, but requires that the recipient read in HTML, not PT. Whereas his idea of using a "header" signature (one that you insert before composing the letter), makes more sense to me and is OK no matter what format the recipient uses to read.
Then again, Bruce's idea of saving a template EML file and using it to start a letter is what I had in mind back in my original reply to this thread. I think it might be the sanest.

In order to use Stationery as a letterhead that includes text, you have to first create the Stationery, then go back and Edit it. This requires an HTML editor or a PT editor and knowledge of HTML coding. Or you can use Ron Sommer's method, slightly modified:
"You can compose a signature with OE and Notepad. Create your signature in an OE mail composition window. View, check Source Edit. Click on the Source tab. Highlight and copy the source code. Paste the code into Notepad. Save As "signature.htm". Include the quotes. Change signature to your chose of a name. Use signature.htm for your signature file."
The modification necessary to use this for a Stationery instead of a Signature, is to save the file as Letterhead.htm (or whatever.htm) to c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\stationery
I was trying to actually create the Stationery using the dialogues provided. Not possible to do that and include text without further editing the HTML file.

Shouldn't you learn to speak proper English before you start thinking about letterheads?
And, regardless of your first language, email should be text only. HTML sucks. Everywhere, AFAIAC.
